Trust, Universality and Solidarity are core principles from A New Agenda for Peace.
This session galvanized the strong support for these principles in tangible ways, with focus on an intergenerational dialogue for peace, dismantling patriarchal power structures, civilian protection in urban settings, a call to action for a future without terrorism, and imagining peace in a digital world.

13:00 - 15:00 | Lunch Walk for Peace - optional self-guided tour As part of the Action Days, participants are invited to join a “Walk for Peace,” a voluntary and reflective journey across the United Nations premises, along a route that highlights significant art pieces related to the search for peace, donated by various member states. This unguided walk offers an opportunity to explore the artwork that represents peace, solidarity, and global unity. | |
15:00-16:00 | Session 4: Protection of Civilians in urban settings This session will raise awareness about the impact of the use of explosive weapons in populated areas by State and non-State actors, including terrorist groups. Renowned storyteller Giles Duley, the United Nations Global Advocate for Persons with Disabilities in Conflict and Peacebuilding Situations, will describe the long-term impact of war through the stories of five survivors of armed conflict.
